Comet Hale-Bopp
Photo, March 9, 1997, was taken at 5:05 AM PST near Livermore, CA. The magnitude of the comet is near -1. Photo was taken with Fuji 400 film, exposure 5 min. The camera (70mm lens) was piggybacked on a telescope. Longer exposures bring out the blue ionization tail.
